During a snowstorm, on an evening in March 1947 in Guénette, over 250 passengers were unaware of the incoming danger while their train closed in on the horseshoe-shaped curve. In shock, they walked all the way to Bédard Station to seek help. Thus, they beat the clock and reached their stop before their train actually did.
