Mount Sir-Wilfrid is said to be haunted by the Windigo. A supernatural being belonging to Anishinabeg mythology, this gigantic creature is described as having emaciated features, no lips, and hollow eye sockets. The spirit could supposedly bewitch communities into committing monstrous acts. Scary, isn't it? According to another legend, the Windigo is actually a good demon, watching over the land to protect it. He would only attack those who destroy nature. Let's hope that the second story has more truth to it than the first!
